To do the incredibly detailed models by Tabletop World justice, I looked for inspiration and reference in medieval buildings that still stand near to where I live. In this case I mainly used the city walls and adjecent buildings of the town of Reutlingen - in particular because they are somewhat dilapidated and are not renovated to look like right out of a Disney fairy tale.
